With a solid background in fine art and 25 years’ experience working with stained glass, Zoe Angle brings versatility and understanding to her craft. She has a BA (hons) degree in Fine Art and completed a four 4-year glass painting apprenticeship with Goddard and Gibbs Studios, the largest stained-glass firm in the UK.
Zoe’s specialism of glass painting provides an added dimension to her stained glass. After being taught to paint in a tight and formal style, she now continues to experiment with use of paint in a more expressive way, using different types of brush strokes and other freeform mark-making techniques. A common feature of her work is a flair for strong and distinctive composition. Zoe established Angle Glass, in 2009 and has, over the last eight years, built a successful business, working with private homeowners, design/build companies, churches, and estate agents. She is frequently commissioned to paint for other stained-glass studios, notably by Blount Stained Glass for part of the Winston Churchill memorial window in St Martin’s church, Bladon, Oxfordshire.
